As the 2025–2026 academic year approaches, Cornerstone Global Academy (CGA) held its annual Teacher Training Week from June 30 to July 3, a formative time designed not only to prepare educators academically, but to renew their hearts, sharpen their vision, and strengthen their unity as one body in Christ. This year’s training reminded the entire teachers of their sacred calling and responsibility—to be educators who shine Christ’s light and preserve His grace.

From the first day, opening with a devotion and leadership session led by CGA Director Mrs. Eunyoung Lee, teachers were invited to reflect deeply on 1 Peter 5:2–4 and the heart of a shepherd-leader. With the message titled “Leadership,” she exhorted every teacher to lead with sincerity, humility, and a focus on eternity. As shepherds entrusted with young lives, CGA educators were reminded that their influence goes far beyond academics—it is about shaping character and modeling Christ-likeness.

The spirit of purpose and alignment continued into the next session, “Classroom-Tested, Practically Proven,” where Mr. Albert distilled a decade of teaching wisdom into practical strategies and heartfelt encouragement. Anchored in Hebrews 12:2, he urged teachers to persevere in faith and excellence, keeping their eyes fixed on Jesus amid the joys and challenges of the classroom.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted toward collective unity through team-building sessions facilitated by the Principal and academic coordinator. Teachers gathered in their respective school-level teams: Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High—to articulate a shared vision and commitment. These collaborative moments not only cultivated deeper bonds among colleagues but also clarified direction for the upcoming year, ensuring that every grade level and department moved forward with common purpose.

The second day offered a time of reflection and deeper insight into the heart of CGA’s journey. Through her session “From the Back of the Tapestry,” Mrs. Sora invited teachers to trace the school’s ten-year history as evidence of God’s faithful hand at work. Like a tapestry viewed from behind—messy, unclear, and tangled—our journeys as educators can sometimes seem confusing. Yet, on the other side, God is weaving a beautiful story. This reminder anchored the team in gratitude, trust, and hope for the future.

A major highlight of the training week came with a session by guest speaker Dr. Astrid HW-Levi, MSc. (ECE), MSc. (Psychology), Eds., EdD., who presented “God’s Diverse Design: Building Brain-Friendly Christian Classrooms for All.” With clarity and depth, she shared research-based yet faith-rooted approaches to create inclusive and engaging learning environments. Her message empowered teachers to embrace the unique design of each student, applying brain-friendly strategies that honor God’s creativity and foster genuine learning.

As the final day drew to a close, it was clear that this was more than a training—it was a commissioning. Teachers left not only with fresh strategies and plans, but with renewed hearts, united spirits, and a shared calling to influence lives for eternity. This year, CGA educators are stepping into the classroom not merely as instructors, but as shepherds, mentors, and light-bearers—ready to lead students toward influence, integrity, and impact.
