Groundbreaking Ceremony: Cornerstone Global Academy Begins Construction of the New “Danvit” Hall

Cornerstone Global Academy (CGA) joyfully commemorated a historic moment on August 8, 2024, as the community gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony of Danvit Hall. This event represents a significant step forward in the school’s mission to provide a high-quality, Christ-centered education through enhanced facilities and a nurturing learning environment. The name Danvit comes from Korean, meaning “the light of the sun that shines in the morning.” This meaning reflects CGA’s commitment to being a light in the world of education, offering hope and direction to the next generation.

The ceremony was attended by a diverse group of stakeholders, including CGA leaders, teachers, staff, students, parents, and distinguished guests from Korea. The construction of the new hall is set to begin immediately, with completion expected by Mei next year, just in time for the new academic year. The ceremony began with a welcoming message and an opening worship session. Pastor Buil Jun led the prayer, followed by a sermon from Pastor Hyojin Chunng, who expressed hope that the new CGA building would “help establish a new generation firmly in this land and that through this building, God’s protection will be even more evident within our community.” Following the spiritual segment, Mr. Younggyu Lee, the Founder of K-Eduplex, delivered a greeting message emphasizing the importance of the new hall in CGA’s future.

The highlight of the ceremony was the official groundbreaking, marked by the ceremonial shoveling of sand. This symbolic was performed by CGA’s Principal, Vice Director, Founder, architect, Mr. Hyunmoon Cho (who is also the primary donor for the hall), CGA’s chaplain, and a selected student. This signified the official start of construction.

Adding a special touch to the occasion was a performance by Psalm Jong Shim, a renowned Korean saxophonist known for his versatility in classical, jazz, pop, and CCM genres. Notably, he is also the composer of the instrumental version of the CGA song.

As the construction moves forward, the school community continues to pray and believe that God will use this new facility to enhance the educational environment and contribute significantly to the school’s future success.
