Bekasi, October 23, 2023 – Cornerstone Global Academy Dives into Javanese Culture for Bulan Bahasa!
Bulan Bahasa is an annual commemoration celebrated every October in Indonesia to honor the history of the Indonesian language’s origin. This is based on the Youth Pledge (Sumpah Pemuda) held on October 28, 1928. Cornerstone Global Academy also took part in the celebration on October 23, 2023, with an exciting event from 9:00 to 12:00. The theme of the event was “AKSARA: Aku dan Kamu Bersaudara” with Javanese Tradition. The event aims to add a traditional flavor to the learning experience. The school hopes this festival will develop a profound appreciation for the Indonesian language and culture in its students.
Several interesting activities are planned to liven up this Bulan Bahasa celebration. Students compete in a decorating competition for a ‘nasi tumpeng,’ traditional games, and a Javanese fashion show. The event’s centerpiece was the Javanese cultural show, where students performed traditional dances, music, and dramas while dressed in beautiful Javanese costumes. The atmosphere carried warmth and friendship, creating a sense of solidarity among participants and spectators.
This Bulan Bahasa event at CGA provides a unique opportunity to highlight the necessity of preserving the Indonesian language and culture in the face of globalization. It is believed that by participating in activities like this, kids can develop a deeper appreciation for the nation’s cultural diversity. The celebration culminates with the giving of prizes to the competition winners, recognizing the school’s efforts to teach its students to appreciate and preserve the Indonesian language and culture.
